Linkpop shut down: how to move your bio links, step by step

Updated on

If a follower taps your bio link and lands on shopify.com or an error page instead of your products, that link probably still points to Linkpop. This checklist takes you through moving every old Linkpop link to a new page, in an order that never leaves followers at a dead end.

What happened to Linkpop

Linkpop was Shopify's own link-in-bio tool. According to Coywolf's report on Shopify's email to Linkpop users, Shopify retired it on 7 July 2025, and after that date merchants could no longer edit their Linkpop pages or create new ones. The Linkpop listing on the Shopify App Store now says the app "is not currently available on the Shopify App Store."

When we checked on 26 September 2026, linkpop.com redirected to shopify.com, and some old Linkpop page addresses we tried returned a "Page Not Found" error. Others still loaded a page. Even if yours still loads, you can't edit it any more, so treat every Linkpop link as one to replace.

The migration checklist

Before you change anything, make a list. Old links hide in more places than your bio:

Write down each place, so you can tick it off in step 4.

2. Pick a replacement

You can use a Shopify link-in-bio app, a general bio-link tool or a page on your own store. We compare them, with what to check before you choose, in our Linkpop alternative guide.

3. Set up the new page before you switch

Build and publish the new page first, with your products, collections and links, and open it yourself. Only then change your bios. That way there's never a moment when your bio link leads nowhere.

Start where most people tap, usually your Instagram and TikTok bios. Then move on to story highlights and pinned posts, your email signature and templates, your website, and your ads. Tick each place off your list as you go, and at the end search your website and email tool for "linkpop" once more to catch anything you missed.

Add UTM parameters to the links that go from your new page to your store, with a different source for each network. Your analytics can then tell bio visits apart from everything else, and Instagram apart from TikTok. Our link-in-bio guide explains a simple scheme under what to measure.

6. Test on a phone, inside the apps

Open your new bio link from the Instagram app and the TikTok app on your phone, not only in a desktop browser. That's where your followers see it. Tap a product, a collection and a link, and check that each one opens the right page in your store.

7. Plan a reprint for printed QR codes

A printed QR code can't be changed. If yours point to Linkpop, plan a reprint of your packaging inserts, business cards and signs, and swap out old stock as it runs down. When you reprint, point the QR code at an address on a domain you control, such as your store's own domain. You can redirect that address later without reprinting anything. An old Linkpop address can't be redirected, because linkpop.com isn't yours.

Where Bioshelf fits

Bioshelf is a link-in-bio page for Shopify stores, launching soon on the Shopify App Store. On install it builds your page in under 30 seconds from your theme (logo, colours, social links), your best-sellers of the last 60 days and your collections, so step 3 is mostly done for you. When stock, a price or a product changes, the page updates within seconds, and sold-out products show "Sold out" and move to the end of the grid. A page shows up to 12 products and 4 collection cards, lives at yourstore.bioshelf.co and adds UTM parameters to every link to your store, and it comes with Meta and TikTok pixels, clicks per product and link, and orders attributed to your bio link. One plan: $14/month with a 7-day free trial, and no free plan.

Try Bioshelf before launch

If you're moving off Linkpop now, you can ask for early access to Bioshelf ahead of the App Store launch.
