The Linktree Shopify product limit, and how to work around it

Updated on

You connected your Shopify store to Linktree, started adding products, and stopped at six. Or the connection won't finish, or products don't show the way they should. This page explains the limit as Linktree documents it, what merchants report, the workarounds you have (most of them aren't Bioshelf), and where Bioshelf fits if you decide to switch.

What the limit is

Linktree's own help article, How do I display my Shopify products on my Linktree?, last updated 13 April 2026, says:

You can add up to six products from your Shopify store to your Linktree.

The same article says you can add a collection or select individual products from your Shopify store, and add an optional description above the product gallery.

Linktree's Shopify app listing shows four plans: Free, Starter ($8/month), Pro ($15/month) and Premium ($35/month). The help article doesn't say that a paid plan changes the six-product limit.

If your store has a handful of hero products, six may be all you need. If you have 40 products, or a new drop every month, it means choosing six and hiding the rest from your bio.

What merchants report

On Linktree's App Store review page, the app has a 3.6 rating from 18 reviews. Half of them are 5-star, many praising easy setup. The reviews that report problems share a few themes:

These are individual reviews, not a measure of how the integration works for everyone. But if you recognise your problem here, you're not alone.

If the integration is not working

Before you switch anything, try the basics:

  1. Disconnect the store in Linktree and connect it again.
  2. Check the status of those products in Shopify (active, draft or scheduled).
  3. Try a collection instead of individual products.
  4. Contact Linktree's support with screenshots of the step where it fails.

Workarounds for the product limit

1. Rotate your six

Treat the six slots as a shop window: current drop, best-seller, whatever is in this week's posts. It's free, but someone has to update it every time, and a sold-out product stays there until you notice.

Next to the six products, add a normal Linktree link to a collection on your store, such as "Shop all" or "New in". The collection page shows everything and stays up to date because it's your store. The trade-off is one more tap, and the follower lands on a full store page, not the product they saw.

3. Build a bio page on your own store

Create a Shopify page or collection for social traffic and put its URL in your bio instead of Linktree. You get your whole catalogue with no third-party limit. You also give up the link list, and you curate it by hand.

Several apps on the Shopify App Store build a bio page from your catalogue. Compare them on product limits, sold-out handling, attribution and price. Our Linkpop alternative guide lists what to check, with examples and prices.

Where Bioshelf fits

Bioshelf is a link-in-bio page for Shopify stores, launching soon on the Shopify App Store. It has a cap too: a page shows up to 12 products, plus up to 4 collection cards that open the collection in your store.

It builds itself. On install, your page is built in under 30 seconds from your store's theme (logo, brand colours, social links), your best-sellers of the last 60 days and your collections.

It never goes stale. When stock, a price or a product changes, the page updates within seconds. Sold-out products show "Sold out" and move to the end of the grid.

You finally know what social sells. UTM parameters are added automatically to every link to your store. Meta and TikTok pixels (behind a consent banner) and click counts per product and link show what your followers do, and orders are attributed to your bio link.

Each product card opens the product page in your store. From the Shopify admin you can reorder, hide or pick products and collections, add links, text and buttons, choose one of 6 themes, check the live preview, then publish or unpublish. The page lives at yourstore.bioshelf.co and is server-rendered with no JavaScript by default.

Bioshelf isn't a general bio-link tool. If your bio is mostly links to podcasts, bookings and other sites, with a few products on the side, Linktree's six products may be enough.
